So happy I can finally get proper sashimi for a good price near Nottingham! To my knowledge, this is the only place where you can find fatty tuna near Nottingham. The yellowtail is also nice, and hard to find in other Japanese restaurants in the area. The store has only recently opened, so you might need some patience and understanding when popular items sell out or tables are reserved- but this can be avoided by booking in advance, which I strongly recommend doing. I have given Umami Derby 5 stars as this restaurant really is a much needed addition to the area, and the quality of sashimi is quite good considering we are so far inland! Good quality sashimi can be difficult to source reliably in this part of the UK so this is really exciting for anyone who’s been missing good sashimi. The price is also reasonable. There is even free parking for 2 hours nearby so well worth the commute to the area. I wish the owners all the best and look forward to coming back soon😁
